Boyce Wilson is an Emergency Preparedness Planner for the Heart of Texas Council of Governments in Waco, Texas. As a former Marine and emergency medical technician, he has dedicated his 10 year career to improving safety and resilience within the community using innovative techniques. Since 2007, he has trained both youth and adults in the multiple facets of emergency management in order to increase local preparedness and response capabilities within the State of Texas. As a result of these efforts, the Heart of Texas Council of Governments maintains a comprehensive planning and training capability and a Citizen Corps Council comprised of 21 initiatives, with nearly half of those initiatives focusing on youth preparedness.
