Mary E. Polk is currently a Service Program Manager for Delaware’s Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families. She is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University and has over 25 years of state experience working for families in various capacities. Mary is known for her leadership and abilities to make internal and external system changes which benefit families in the area of Child Welfare. She is a developer of Family Support intervention programs which provides effective family consultation and support services and is an initiator of coalitions and the co-founder of the Delaware Fatherhood/Family Coalition. Mary is committed to children through empowering parents and the community. In the area of Social Work, and as a wife and mother of four adult children, she knows the significance of fatherhood involvement and healthy adult relationship, and the positive impact it has on the well-being of children when parents and the community maximizes their resources and their understanding of how the dynamics fatherhood and healthy adult relationship plays a critical role on the well-being of children.
