Dr. Hendrikson is currently the Environmental Health Director and physician assistant for Salud Family Health Center. Salud is a large Community and Migrant Health Center with 11 sites in northern Colorado. Salud provides health care to 300,000 patients per year with over 10,000 of those visits to migrant and seasonal farm workers who work in agriculture in the United States. He has worked at Salud for over 26 years.
He has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, a Masters degree in Pediatric Medicine and a Doctorate in Environmental Health and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Center.
Dr. Hendrikson and his wife Leslie both served in the United States Peace Corps in Swaziland and started a project there that provides housing, health care, and education to HIV orphans who have lost their parents to HIV related diseases.
Dr. Hendrikson currently advises UNAIDS on the treatment of HIV/AIDS disease to displaced persons as these patients move from country to country.
