Prior to his election as union president in 2007, Dave was a classroom teacher, staff developer, and instructional coach for 28 years in the New Haven Public School system. Most recently Dave has led school reform efforts, which have produced a new four-year contract emphasizing collaboration and cooperation. The contract also created a new teacher evaluation system (TEVAL) that incorporates student learning as a core component.
