National Energy Awareness Month
October is National Energy Awareness Month, a national effort to underscore how central energy is to our national prosperity, security, and environmental well-being. In commemoration of National Energy Awareness Month, the Obama Administration is kicking off a month of clean energy events and activities. Senior administration officials across the federal government will be highlighting the work they are doing to position our country for a sustainable future, create new clean energy jobs and lay the foundation for our long-term economic security.
EPA - Methane to Markets Partnership

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Assistant Administrator Gina McCarthy will represent the United States at the Methane to Markets Partnership in Mexico City on Oct. 1. At the meeting, the United States will work with partner nations to encourage global action to reduce methane emission sources and identify possible additional resources to achieve this goal. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas that is 20 times more powerful than carbon dioxide in warming the atmosphere.
