Letters to President Obama

From

Amy L. Williams, Martinez, Georgia

December 6, 2013

My Dearest President Obama,

My name is Amy Williams. I live in Augusta, Georgia. My husband and I own and operate a semi truck. For the past 3 years we have been paying $1200 a month for health coverage. Under the ACA exchanges we found a plan with the same insurer for $89. Plus our deductible went from $10,000 to $300! That is a huge savings!

I feel forever grateful to you. The best thing I could do was help others. I have spent hours on the Healthcare.gov Facebook page. I would help people with questions and direct people for help. People thought I worked for the page I was helping so much. I found this awesome Facebook page that displays success stories. I quickly become very involved in their efforts. We have been doing our own grassroots stuff. All on a volunteer basis. We all want to get the message out about the ACA. We are one of the very few doing this. We have worked with UnitedBlue and many other pages to get the word out. I have personally called the Michael Smerconish show, Ed Schultz radio show, and did a bit for the New York Times to get the word out.

Everything we are doing is to make sure others find out the good and we combat the horrible media coverage. We have made a difference. The team I'm working with has worked so many hours. I would love for you to give us a shout out on your FaceBook page. Our page starter was [...] and we have a team of about 10 volunteers. We all love you! We want many many people to share their stories. If nothing else I'd give anything just to have a letter from you. I admire you so much. You make me so proud to be an American. I pray for you daily. May The Lord continue to bless and guide you. I appreciate all the hard hard work you do everyday. There are many people who know you have a kind heart and truly want us all to be better.

With much love and respect,

Amy & Kenneth Williams
