This week, the President spent time in sunny San Francisco and subzero Chicago, spoke at two different summits on two different coasts, and named three new national monuments.
Friday, February 13th
- The President convened the Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection Summit in Palo Alto, California.
Tuesday, February 17th
- The President released the number of people who signed up for affordable healthcare on healthcare.gov.
- The President met with the outgoing Administrator of USAID, Rajiv Shah along with his family.
- The President met with newly-sworn-in Secretary of Defense Ash Carter.
Wednesday, February 18th
- The President convened the first ever White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism.
Thursday, February 19th
- The President spoke at the Summit on Countering Violent Extremism at the State Department in DC.
- The President designated the Browns Canyon in Colorado a National Monument.
- The President traveled to Chicago, where he designated the South Side’s Pullman district a National Monument.
