Statement by NSC Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan on National Security Advisor Susan E. Rice’s Meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu

National Security Advisor Susan E. Rice met today with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu of Turkey.  Ambassador Rice and the Minister discussed concrete ways to strengthen our cooperation against ISIL and foreign fighters and reviewed the train and equip program for vetted members of the moderate Syrian opposition.  Ambassador Rice encouraged the Minister to take concrete steps to improve relations with Armenia and to facilitate an open and frank dialogue in Turkey about the atrocities of 1915.
