The President’s Call to Lebanese President Michel Sleiman
Yesterday, President Obama spoke with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and conveyed his firm support for Lebanon’s sovereignty. The President emphasized the United States’ continued support for Lebanon and said he looks forward to working with President Sleiman to advance peace in the region.
In his conversation with President Sleiman, President Obama recognized the recent anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri and conveyed his strong support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
