In Baltimore, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and OMB Director Jack Lew will join the President for the visit where he will lay out key priorities in the 2012 Budget and discuss the importance of responsibly investing in education to prepare our children to be competitive in the global economy and win the future.  There will be travel pool coverage.

In the afternoon, the President will hold a bilateral meeting and then an expanded bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press. Following these meetings, the President and Prime Minister Harper will hold a joint press availability in the South Court Auditorium. This availability is open press. Also tomorrow, Gene Sperling, Director of the National Economic Council, and Austan Goolsbee, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, will release “A Strategy for American Innovation: Securing Our Economic Growth and Prosperity,” an update to the administration’s innovation report from September 2009. The report will outline the importance of investing in innovation and the industries of the future to grow our economy, create jobs and win the future. Sperling and Goolsbee will discuss in the briefing room at 1:30 pm ET. Goolsbee has just released a new White House White Board explaining how Startup America, part of the innovation strategy, will help new businesses clear the hurdles to success.
