The Schedule

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. The President will then meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office and receive the Economic Daily Briefing in the Roosevelt Room. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will award Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta, U.S. Army, the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry. Staff Sergeant Giunta will receive the Medal of Honor for his courageous actions during combat operations against an armed enemy in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan in October 2007. Staff Sergeant Giunta's wife, Jennifer, and his parents, Steven and Rosemary Giunta, will join the President and the First Lady in the East Room to commemorate his example of selfless service. This event is open press.

Later, the President will meet with Senator Robert Menendez and Representatives Nydia Velazquez and Luis Gutierrez of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

The Schedule

In the morning, the President and the First Lady will visit a classroom at Holy Name High School in Mumbai, India. The President and the First Lady will then attend a Diwali Candle Lighting and Performance at Holy Name High School. There will be travel pool coverage. Later, the President will visit the Agriculture Exposition and the Open Government & Technology Exposition at St. Xavier College. There will be travel pool coverage of these visits. The President will then hold a town hall meeting with students at St. Xavier College. The First Lady will introduce the President. The town hall is open press. In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will travel to New Delhi, India. The departure from Mumbai and the arrival in New Delhi are open press. Later in the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will attend a meet and greet at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. This is closed press. The President and the First Lady will then tour Humayun’s Tomb. There will be travel pool coverage of the tour. In the evening, the President and Prime Minister Singh will hold a one on one meeting at Prime Minister Singh’s residence. This meeting is closed press. The President and the First Lady will then attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Singh and Mrs. Kaur at Prime Minister Singh’s residence. This dinner is closed press.
