What's Happening

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.  The President will then meet with senior advisors. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will make a personnel announcement in the Rose Garden. This announcement is open press.

At 1:00 PM PT, the Vice President will deliver remarks to the 81^st Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event at the Mandalay Bay hotel is open press.

Afterwards, the Vice President will return to Washington, DC.

In the morning, the President and First Lady will meet and greet with Embassy personnel. This meeting at the Ritz-Carlton, Berlin is closed press.

Later, the President will visit the Schloss Bellevue where he will sign a guest book and be welcomed by President Joachim Gauck of Germany in a ceremony with military honors. Afterwards, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Gauck. There will be pre-set pool coverage of the President’s arrival at Schloss Bellevue and there will be travel pool coverage of the welcome with military honors as well as the guest book signing. There will be a restricted pool spray at the top of the bilateral meeting.

Later in the morning, the President will visit the German Chancellery where he will hold a bilateral meeting and a joint press conference with Chancellor Angela Merkel before having a working lunch with Chancellor Merkel in the afternoon. There will be pre-set pool coverage of the President’s arrival at the German Chancellery and there will be a photojournalists’ spray only at the top of the bilateral meeting. The joint press conference is open press while the working lunch is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at the Brandenburg Gate. The President’s remarks will be open press.

Afterwards, the President will sign the Golden Book of Berlin. This signing at the Commerzbank Building is closed press.

Later, the President will meet with Peer Steinbrueck of the Social Democratic Party in the Commerzbank Building. There will be a photojournalist’s spray only at the top of the meeting.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will visit the Schloss Charlottenburg where they will be welcomed by Chancellor Merkel and her spouse, Professor Joachim Sauer for an official photo. There will be pre-set pool coverage of the arrival and official photo opportunity. Later, the President and the First Lady will attend a dinner with Chancellor Merkel. There will be a travel pool spray of the toasts only.

At night, the President and the First Familywill depart Germany en route Washington, DC. The departure from Tegel Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press.

At 11:00 AM, the Vice President will deliver remarks at the Congressional ceremony commemorating the dedication of the statue of Frederick Douglass at the U.S. Capitol. This event is open press.

In the afternoon, the Vice President will attend meetings at the White House. 

In the morning, the President and the First Family will arrive in Belfast, Northern Ireland. There will be travel pool coverage of the arrival at Aldergrove International Airport.

Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks at the Belfast Waterfront. The President’s remarks are open press.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with Prime Minister David Cameron ahead of the G-8 Summit. There will be travel pool coverage of the President’s visit with Prime Minister Cameron in County Fermanagh.

Later, the President will meet with EU Leaders on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. There will be a restricted pool spray at the top of this meeting, at the G-8 Summit Site, Lough Erne, Northern Ireland.  Immediately following this event, the President will join Prime Minister Cameron, Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, and Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, to deliver remarks to the media.  There will be travel pool coverage of the remarks at the G-8 Summit Site, Lough Erne.

Afterwards, the President will be greeted by Prime Minister Cameron as a part of the official leader arrivals. The official arrivals at the G8 Summit Site, Lough Erne will be open to travel pool coverage.

Following the official arrivals, the President will take part in the first plenary session. This session at the G-8 Summit Site, Lough Erne is closed press.

In the evening, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. There will be a pool spray with statements at the bottom of this bilateral meeting at the G-8 Summit Site, Lough Erne.

In the evening, the President will attend a leaders-only working dinner. This dinner at the G-8 Summit Site, Lough Erne, is closed press.

The President will remain overnight in Lough Erne, Northern Ireland.

On Thursday morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will meet with Congressman John Dingell in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at the LGBT Pride Month celebration at the White House. The President’s remarks in the East Room will be pooled press. 

At 3:30 PM, the Vice President will deliver remarks at a celebration recognizing the Honorable John D. Dingell as the longest-serving Member in the history of the United States Congress. This event at the U.S. Capitol is open press. 

At 4:45 PM, the Vice President will drop by a reception honoring Representative John Dingell at the U.S. Capitol.
