Later in the morning, the President and Vice President will hold an event at the White House to unveil a package of proposals to reduce gun violence. They will be joined by children from around the country who wrote the President letters in the wake of the Newtown tragedy expressing their concerns about gun violence and school safety, along with their parents. In the morning, the President will host President Hamid Karzai and his delegation at the White House for bilateral meetings.
