Later in the morning, the President and the Vice President will convene a meeting in the Roosevelt Room with representatives from the Major Cities Chiefs Association and Major County Sheriffs Association to discuss the common-sense policies the President put forward last month that would reduce gun violence in communities across America. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

In the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet for lunch in the private dining room. This lunch is closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will welcome the NBA Champion Miami Heat to the White House to honor the team and their 2012 NBA Championship victory.  The President will also recognize the Heat’s ongoing support to the men and women who serve in our military and their families, continuing the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts on and off the court. The Schedule

On Friday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.

In the morning, the Vice President will travel to Richmond, Virginia. At 11:00 AM, the Vice President, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Deputy U.S. Attorney General Jim Cole, and other Administration officials will hold a roundtable discussion on the Administration’s efforts to reduce gun violence. Senator Tim Kaine and Congressman Bobby Scott will also attend. The roundtable discussion, held at Virginia Commonwealth University, will include experts who have worked on gun safety issues in the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting.

The Vice President and other officials will deliver remarks at the conclusion of the roundtable; these remarks are pooled for television and open to pre-credentialed correspondents and still photographers.
