Patient-Centered Medical Research to Strengthen the Doctor and Patient Relationship

The Act provides doctors and other providers with access to cutting-edge medical research to help them and their patients make the medical decisions that work for them.

No findings from this research may be interpreted as a mandate for medical practice guidelines or coverage decisions. 

Patients and doctors will have additional control over their medical decisions with important patient safeguards that protect against discriminatory coverage decisions based on age, disability, terminal illness, or an individual’s quality of life preference.
