What's Happening

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will welcome the Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride to the White House in celebration of the seventh annual Soldier Ride. A cycling event to help Wounded Warriors restore their physical and emotional well-being, the Soldier Ride also raises awareness of our nation’s Wounded Warriors who battle the physical and psychological damages of war. In the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with representatives from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with insurance executives in the Roosevelt Room. There will be a photojournalist spray at the top of the meeting.

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will meet with faith leaders to discuss the importance of taking action to pass commonsense immigration reform in the Oval Office. There will be a stills only pool spray at the top of the meeting.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with senior advisors, where he will also observe a moment of silence to mark the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. This meeting and moment of silence in the Oval Office are closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of Defense Hagel in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will mark the beginning of Passover with a Seder at the White House with friends and staff. The Seder in the Old Family Dining Room is closed press.

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will make a personnel announcement in the Rose Garden; the Vice President will also attend. The President’s remarks will be open press.

In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will travel to New York City. The departure from the South Lawn and arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport are open press.

While in New York, the President will deliver remarks at the National Action Network’s 16^th Annual Convention. The President’s remarks are open press.  

At night, the President and the First Lady will depart New York City en route Washington, DC. The departure from John F. Kennedy International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press.

In the morning, the President and First Lady will travel to Killeen, Texas. The departure from the South Lawn and arrival at Robert Gray Army Airfield are open press.

In Killeen, the President and First Lady will attend a memorial ceremony on Fort Hood.  The President will deliver remarks paying tribute to the victims of the tragedy that occurred on April 2.  The ceremony is pooled for TV and open to limited, pre-credentialed stills and correspondents.

Following this event, the President and First Lady will depart Killeen en route Houston, Texas. The departure from Robert Gray Army Airfield and the arrival at George Bush Intercontinental Airport are open press.

While in Houston, the President will attend a DNC event. Following this, the President will deliver remarks and answer questions at a joint DCCC/DSCC dinner. The first event is closed press, and the dinner is open to the print pool for remarks only.

The President and First Lady will remain overnight in Houston.
