The Schedule

In the morning, the President will host the bipartisan, bicameral leadership of Congress at the White House to discuss a balanced approach to reduce the deficit and strengthen our economy. The Vice President will also attend. The President will be joined by Majority Leader Reid, Minority Leader McConnell, Speaker Boehner and Leader Pelosi. There will be a pool spray at the top of this meeting in the Roosevelt Room.

In the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with leaders of civic organizations and other outside groups on these issues.  This meeting in the Roosevelt Room is closed press.

The Schedule

In the morning, the President will travel to New York City. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport are open press.

While in the New York City area, the President will view storm damage, talk with citizens who are recovering from the storm and thank first responders who put their lives at risk to protect their communities. There will be out-of-town travel pool coverage of the President’s visit.

In the afternoon, the President will depart from New York City en route Washington, DC. The departure from John F. Kennedy International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.

In the evening, the President will host cast and crew members of the film Lincoln for a screening at the White House. This screening is closed press.

In the morning, the Vice President will meet with Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus at the Naval Observatory.

In the afternoon, the Vice President will attend a meeting with mayors from across the country to discuss the actions we need to take to keep our economy growing and find a balanced approach to reduce our deficit, as well as efforts to get Congress to act so that taxes don’t go up on 98 percent of Americans at the end of the year.
