In the morning, the President will travel to Galesburg, Illinois. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at the Quad Cities International Airport are open press. While in Galesburg, the President will deliver remarks at Knox College to kick off a series of speeches that will lay out his vision for rebuilding an economy that puts the middle class and those fighting to join it front and center. In these speeches, the President will talk about the progress we've made together, the challenges that remain, and the path forward. The President’s remarks at Knox College are open to pre-credentialed media and ticketed members of the general public. In the afternoon, the President will depart Galesburg, Illinois en route Warrensburg, Missouri. While in Warrensburg, the President will deliver remarks at the University of Central Missouri (UCM). UCM is home to The Missouri Innovation Campus, which prepares students with the education and skills they need to succeed at an accelerated pace while lowering costs and without student debt. The Vice President will be in Mumbai, India. At 1:00 PM LOCAL TIME/3:30 AM ET, the Vice President will deliver remarks on the U.S.-India partnership at the Bombay Stock Exchange. In the afternoon, the Vice President will meet with Indian business, trade, and investment leaders at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. The Vice President’s remarks at the bottom of this meeting are pooled press.

Dr. Jill Biden:

At 12:00 PM LOCAL TIME/2:30 AM ET, Dr. Biden will visit the Mumbai office of UNICEF for a round table discussion on the National Call to Action for Child Survival and Development, a joint initiative of the United States, India, and Ethiopia to accelerate child survival efforts and end preventable child deaths. The participants will include a senior government official from the flagship child survival program, child health experts, social entrepreneurs, and representatives from donor agencies, civil society and private sector. This event is open to pre-credentialed media.

At 2:30 PM LOCAL TIME/5:00 AM ET, Dr. Biden will visit the DILAASA Crisis Intervention Center at K.B. Bhabha Municipal Hospital. DILAASA is India’s first hospital based anti-Gender Based Violence (GBV) center. The program uses one-stop-crisis-centers best practices from the U.S. and U.K. to serve the victims of GBV in a public hospital. Dr. Biden will tour the facility and meet with the hospital officials, representatives from the local and regional government, and CEHAT (the NGO partner of DILAASA). At this event, the President will receive the credentials from foreign Ambassadors recently posted in Washington. The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador’s service in Washington. This event is closed press. At 1:00 PM, the Vice President will deliver remarksonU.S. policy toward the Asia-Pacific region at an event hosted by the Center for American Progress. Following his opening address at the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue and on the eve of his trip to India and Singapore, the Vice President will focus on the United States’ enduring commitment to the rebalance toward Asia, India’s growing role in the Asia-Pacific region, and the critical importance of deepening U.S. trade relationships and building constituencies for shared economic values. This event at George Washington University is open press.

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press. Later in the morning, the President will participate in the latest installment of “Live from the White House” by conducting a round of interviews with Spanish language television anchors from Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and New York to make the case for bipartisan, common sense immigration reform. While in Washington, the local anchors will broadcast Tuesday from a special location on the South Lawn and spend the day with behind-the-scenes access to the White House and the President’s top advisers. At 10:00 AM, the Vice President will swear in Ed Markey as Senator of Massachusetts at the U.S. Capitol.
