What's Happening

In the morning, the President will depart the White House en route West Palm Beach, Florida.  The departure from the South Lawn and arrival at Palm Beach International Airport are open press.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at a private residence.  This event is print pool for remarks only.

After, the President will travel to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for an official event on the economy, where he will make the case for the Buffett Rule, a simple principle for fairness that ensures that millionaires pay at least the same effective tax rate as middle class families pay.  The President believes in standing up for the middle class and making our tax system fairer, where everyone plays by the same set of rules, in order to ensure the economic security of the middle class.  The event is open to pre-credentialed media.

In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.  The President’s remarks are pooled for television, and open to pre-credentialed stills and correspondents. Later in the evening, the President will deliver remarks at a private residence. This event is print pool for remarks only.

At night, the President will return to Washington, DC.  The departure from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and arrival on the South Lawn are open press.

In the morning, the President will deliver remarks to highlight ways the Administration has helped create economic security for women at the White House Forum on Women and the Economy. As part of the Forum, the White House will release a report on women and the economy which will examine the ways in which the Administration has worked to ensure women's economic security and create jobs for women, through all stages of life. From access to affordable education for young women to supporting women at work and at home, to ensuring security for women in retirement, the Administration is committed, across all agencies and departments, to do everything it can to create an economy built to last for America's women. The President’s remarks in the South Court Auditorium are open press and the Forum will be live-streamed on obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/live.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will mark the beginning of Passover with a Seder at the White House with friends and staff. The Seder in the Old Family Dining Room is closed press.

In the morning, the President will host an Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House, as he has done in previous years. Christian leaders from across the country will join the President at this breakfast for a time of prayer, reflection, and celebration of Easter. The Vice President will also deliver remarks. This event in the East Room will be pooled press. Also in the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. The President will then meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press. Later, the President will sign the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, which makes clear that Members of Congress are subject to the same insider trading laws that apply to everyone else. This was legislation the President called on Congress to pass in his 2012 State of the Union Address. The Vice President will also attend. This event in South Court Auditorium is open press.

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will host Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada and President Felipe Calderon of Mexico for the North American Leaders’ Summit (NALS) in the State Dining Room.  This meeting will build on wide-ranging and ongoing cooperation among the United States, Canada, and Mexico with a particular focus on economic growth and competitiveness, citizen security, energy, and climate change.  The leaders will also discuss North America’s role in the Americas in anticipation of the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia later in April, as well as other global economic, political, and security issues. In the afternoon, the President will meet for lunch with Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada and President Felipe Calderon of Mexico in the Green Room. This lunch is closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will hold a joint press conference with Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada and President Felipe Calderon of Mexico in the Rose Garden. The press conference is open press.

Later, the President and the Vice President will meet with Secretary of State Clinton in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.
