The Schedule

In the morning, the President and the First Lady will host a breakfast with veterans at the White House.  This breakfast is closed press.

After, the President will visit Arlington National Cemetery to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony and deliver remarks; the First Lady will also attend. The ceremony and the President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will travel to San Diego, California. The President and the First Lady’s departure from the South Lawn and arrival in San Diego are open press.

While in San Diego, the President will deliver remarks on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. The President’s remarks are pooled for cameras and open to pre-credentialed correspondents.  The President and the First Lady will then attend the Carrier Classic aboard the USS Carl Vinson.  The Carrier Classic will be open to pool stills and pre-credentialed correspondents; there will be ESPN coverage of the game.  The deadline to request credentials has passed.

The President will be interviewed courtside by Jim Gray of Westwood One and Andy Katz of ESPN during the game. Note that the times listed below are approximate and are subject to the timing of the game. The interview with Jim Gray will air live on Armed Forces radio network and Westwood One stations. The interview with Andy Katz will air live during ESPN’s coverage of the game.

Later, the President and the First Lady will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii. The departure from San Diego and the arrival in Honolulu are open press.

Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks at the Georgetown Waterfront Park, in front of the Key Bridge, urging Congress to pass the infrastructure piece of the American Jobs Act now so that we can make much-needed investments in infrastructure projects across the country and put more Americans back to work. The Key Bridge needs repairs and could benefit from investments in retrofitting as a result of the American Jobs Act.  This event is open to pre-credentialed media.  The deadline to request credentials has passed.
