What's Happening

In the morning, the President will sit down for an interview on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” at the NBC Studios in Burbank, CA. NBC will release excerpts of the interview in the afternoon. Other than the excerpts, the interview will be embargoed until airing. There will be a stills only photo spray of the interview between segments one and two. Following the interview, the President will depart Los Angeles, CA en route San Francisco, CA. The departure of Air Force One from Los Angeles International Airport and arrival of Air Force one at San Francisco International Airport are open press. In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at the W Hotel in San Francisco. There will be travel pool coverage of these remarks. Later, the President will depart San Francisco, CA en route Denver, CO. The departure of Air Force One from San Francisco International Airport and the arrival of Air Force One at Buckley Air Force Base are open press. In the evening, the President will deliver remarks at a campaign event at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. There will be print pool coverage for remarks. Later in the evening, the President will deliver remarks at another campaign event at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. There will be travel pool coverage of these remarks. The President will spend the night in Denver, CO.

In the morning, President Obama will sign the Korea, Panama and Colombia Free Trade Agreements and the renewal of Trade Adjustment Assistance for workers in the Oval Office. These trade agreements will significantly boost American exports, support tens of thousands of American jobs and protect labor rights, the environment and intellectual property.  There will be a stills only pool spray of each bill signing. 

Later, the President will drop by a reception in the Rose Garden with business and labor leaders as well as workers who will benefit from these bills.  This reception is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will honor the recipients of the 2010 National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation—the highest honors bestowed by the United States government on scientists, engineers, and inventors. He will also announce additional steps to speed the process of moving new ideas from the laboratory to the marketplace.  This event is open press.

On the third day of his American Jobs Act bus tour, the President will be in Virginia where he will discuss jobs and the economy.

In the morning, the President and the First Lady will hold an event at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia where they will deliver remarks on the importance of hiring American veterans.  This event is open to pre-credentialed media.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at Fire Station 9 in North Chesterfield, Virginia where he will call on Congress to pass the American Jobs Act piece-by-piece, beginning with the proposal to provide funding to prevent teacher layoffs and hire police officers and firefighters. The President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media. 

Later, the President will return to Washington, DC.  The departure from Richmond, Virginia and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press.  

In the morning, the President will travel to Asheville, North Carolina to begin his three-day American Jobs Act bus tour where he will discuss jobs and the economy. The President’s departure from the South Lawn and arrival at Asheville Regional Airport are open press.

While at Asheville Regional Airport, the President will deliver remarks. These remarks are open to pre-credentialed members of the media.  

Later, the President will deliver remarks at West Wilkes High School in Millers Creek, North Carolina.  These remarks are open to pre-credentialed members of the media.

The President will spend the night in Greensboro, North Carolina.
