In the afternoon, the President will welcome the WNBA Champion Seattle Storm to the White House to honor the team’s 2010 championship season. This visit will also continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to communities as well as for winning championships as part of their trip to Washington. As part of the Storm’s visit to Washington, the team will hold a basketball clinic for Washington, D.C.-area kids. Later in the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with members of the Senate Democratic Leadership in the Oval Office to discuss the status of the negotiations to find common ground on a balanced approach to deficit reduction.
